The invention relates to a sound-damping element (1), in the outer layers (3, 5) of which U-profiles (6-11) are inserted. The U-profiles (6-11), preferably made of steel, increase the sound-damping value of the element from 39 dB to 44 dB. Gluing the U-profiles (6-11) into the outer layers (3, 5) of the element moreover ensures better rigidity of the element (1).
